If you are after a glimpse of Rwanda’s primates and rare species of Mountain Gorillas, then this five day Rwanda Primate Safari is the best to take. You will start with a visit to Nyungwe Forest National Park and end in Volcanoes National Park, where on your last day you can have a short city tour which includes the genocide memorial before your departure flight.
Day 1: Drive to Nyungwe Forest National park.
Early in the morning, you will be picked by our safari guide, from the hotel or from the airport – drive straight to Nyungwe Forest National Park which will takes about 5 to 6 hours including stopover to the national museum in Butare and Nyanza king’s Palace, Stay at:

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking - Canopy Walk
Early morning with parked breakfast, the guide will drive you up to the Park headquarters for the morning briefing about Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe.
Later the trekking excursions start – you will follow the permanently established paths heading you into the Jungle in search of these primates.
After locating them, you are allowed to associate with them for one hour. After you will return to the lodge for lunch as you get prepared for the Canopy walk. This walk rewards awe-inspiring views of Nyungwe Forest, towering volcanoes and valleys.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
After chimp trekking and Canopy walk, that’s enough for Nyungwe – then you will start the scenic drive from Nyungwe to Rwanda’s mostly visited Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes
Early in the morning, be at the park headquarters for the briefing conducted to give an insight about Gorilla trek in the Jungles of volcanoes National Park.
Tourists are divided into groups of eight individuals, each group assigned to a Gorilla family and park rangers.
After, the Journey to the jungle starts and you will follow the permanently established trails. Distance moved and time taken depends on where these apes spent their last night.
You will be allowed to be in the presence of the Gorillas for only one hour. After return to lodge for relaxation.
Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali.
Early in the morning, you will transfer back to Kigali. As you wait for the time of your flight, you can be visiting different places of interest in Kigali like Kigali Genocide Memorial. Later be at the airport in time. End of Safari.
